In this webinar, titled Four Decades of Special Education Reading Instruction: Lessons Learned from a Career of Implementing Reading Practices in a Large Urban School District, Barbara Wilmarth, Instructional Staff Developer, Exceptional Student Education (ESE) for Pinellas County Schools in Florida, will highlight how the implementation of process-based reading instruction changed student performance and how she helped build structures to ensure instructional fidelity in a large urban school district.  A special educator for 38 years, Barbara will discuss the evolution of reading instruction for special education students throughout her career.

This presentation is appropriate for administrators, including State, District and School Administrators,  Staff Development Coordinators, and Lead Teachers; this presentation is appropriate for addressing the needs of a wide variety of populations, including Special Education, Regular Education, and English Language Learners. 

The Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) has endorsed the Seeing Stars® program and the Visualizing and Verbalizing® program, which were authored by Lindamood-Bell’s founders.
