Orthographic Processing (Symbol Imagery)
Definition:Orthographic processing, also called symbol imagery, is the ability to auditorily perceive and mentally image the sounds and letters within words. Individuals with weak symbol imagery have difficulty identifying the sounds/letters within words and retaining the orthographic patterns in words.
